China's daily crude steel output rose 1.6 percent in the first 10 days of the year despite concerns about rising stockpiles, the Custeel consultancy said on Wednesday, citing the China Iron and Steel Association.
Custeel said that daily output over the period hit 1.672 million tonnes, amounting to 610 million tonnes on an annualised basis, according to Reuters calculations.
China's total crude steel output for 2009 is expected at around 565-570 million tonnes when official figures are released on Thursday, up about 13 percent compared to 2008.
