America’s scrap exports hit new high in 2009

America’s scrap exports totaled 22.4 million tons in 2009, reaching a record high.
Among them, China was the biggest export destination at 6.21 million tons, occupied 27.7 percent of total, up by 2.2 times than the same time of last year; 3.68 million tons of scrap went to Turkey, occupied 16.4 percent, down by 17.9 percent.

Scrap exports to Korea rose by 18.7 percent to 3.11 million tons, occupied 13.9 percent of total; Taiwan 2.23 million, down by 13.4 percent.
